Equality is something I have always stood for because people should have the right to marry, they have the right to high-quality and affordable healthcare, and everyone has the right to serve in the military.
I ensured Metropolitan Community College added the word gender identity to our non-discrimination politics to ensure all people are able to attend school with fear of discrimination or retribution. Adding these simple words makes it clear that MCC is inclusive and open to all in our community.
I will never stop fighting for marginalized populations. I will be that person who will fight for healthcare and for access to higher education. I will make sure everyone in our community is equally served.
